This emerald from the Rist Mine in Hiddenite, Alexander County, North Carolina has a very light color and is on the borderline of being classified as emerald. Its blue tint makes it also borderline aquamarine. At any rate it is a fine 1/2 inch long sharp hexagonal green beryl crystal with sharp flat basal termination and no damage. Dug by Bud Sigmon in the 1960's. Darker than the pictures indicate.
