This specimen has to be seen to be believed. It is unlike any I have ever seen from Cumberland, England. It has clear beta quartz crystals on sparkling hematite crystals on reniform botryoidal hematite, with one side covered on calcite crystals. Also has an area of dolomite crystals. It measures 7 x 4 x 2 inches. It can be displayed a dozen ways, as all sides are different and worthy of display. There are approximately 20 intergrown clear beta quartz crystals on one side up to one half inch in length. These are perched on classic cumberland hematite crystals, all overgrowing the "kidney ore" type of hematite which forms the matrix. One side is completely covered in small clear calcite crystals that reflect the underlying red tint of the hematite. One side has very lustrous hematite crystals with calcite, quartz, and dolomite crystals sprinkled on it.
