Only a few collectors are aware of the extreme rarity of Galena in crystalline form from the famous Tsumeb Mine in Namibia. The locality is so well known for dozens of mineral species in superlative crystals, but galena here almost always occurs in massive form or as small grains disseminated in the ore rocks. Crystals are very, very rare and always occur in a cubo-octahedral form, such as these. This specimen is a floater measuring 1.5 x 1 x 0.75 inches. Perfect copndition, no damage. Has a few small clear quartz crystals on top.
