Hard solid "book" of lustrous muscovite mica from the Pine Mountain Mine in Spruce Pine, Mitchell County, North Carolina. Thin sheets of this mica reveal reticulated hematite inclusions. Measures 6.5 x 7 x 0.1 inches ( 16.5 x 17.8 x 0.2 cm).
