Huge and very heavy museum specimen of dark to rasperry purple fluorite in cubic color zoned crystals from the W L Davis - Deardorff Mine, Ozark - Mahoning Group, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois. This mine produced some of the largest fluorite clusters found in the Illinois Fluorspar District. This old specimen is in excellent condition, with only a couple small cleaved corners on a specimen with more than a hundred corners showing. It measures 28 x 15 x 8 inches (71.2 x 38.1 x 20.s cm). I don't have a scale big enough to weigh it, but I would estimate around 200 pounds. Obviously shipping would be VERY expensive, so a shop visit would probably be required. The photos do not show the translucency and gemmy color of the crystals. NOTE: Free shipping does NOT apply to this item!
