Quartz matrix sprinkled with very rare superb micro crystals of turquoise from the Bishop Mine, Lynch Station, Campbell County, Virginia. This long closed locality is famous for having the finest turquoise crystals in the world, though there are very few other localities to compete. Magnification is needed to fully appreciate these crystals, though the specimen is still attractive without it. My photos cannot begin to convey the quality of these crystals, that are gemmy well formed, transparent turquoise blue with highest luster. Measures 2.25 x 2 x 1.5 inches (5.7 x 5 x 3.8 cm).
